  • Game Times
    A match consists of a 20-minute running clock. Championships will have two 10-minute halves with a 5-minute intermission. Line must be set for gap integrity before the next rep can begin. Rep begins on the O-line's movement. 20-second reset clock between reps. Coin toss to select who starts on offense or defense. Possessions are 2 reps per athlete, then switch offense and defense. Each rep has 4 seconds to complete. Overtime (during bracket play only): 3v3, 2 possessions, 1 rep each (6 total reps). Coaches' choice.
  • Penalties
    Off-sides, no bull rush longer than 2 seconds, no holding, and no hands to the face result in (1)point deductions. Personal fouls such as cutting below the waist, head butting, tripping, and spitting lead to warnings and player ejections on subsequent occurrences. If an individual commits 2 personal fouls in 1 day, they will be suspended for the day.
  • Equipment
    All players MUST wear mandated Pylon headgear AND spider pads!   • Coaches/TEAM staff
    Each team has a maximum of 4 team staff members, including 3 coaches and 1 stat keeper/verifier. One member from each team must be a stat keeper/verifier to log correct stats of each match.
  • Additional Match Format Rules
    Bracket Play: Higher seed gets the choice of offense/defense for the opening possession. Fighting: All players must abide by the Connecticut Superiors' 5 on 5 Code of Conduct.
  • Appeals
    For consideration, the coach must report all gameplay ruling discrepancies to the Field Manager no more than 20 minutes after the game has ended. Any reversal or game-changing decisions will be made at the Field Manager's discretion
  • Officials
    Each game will have a minimum of 1 official. The referee will be positioned as the QB. Each game needs 2 stat keepers/verifiers, one from each team. Field manager – each event must have one for every match.
  • Team Members Age & division eligibility
    Team Members Each team has a Minimum 5 players and maximum of 20 players. Players will not be accepted into the event as individuals; all players must be part of a team. Teams are required to turn in a roster 24 hours before the event. Age Requirements: Varsity Division: Players must be at least 15 and no older than 18 ( not a current senior) 15U Division: Players must be at least 13 years old and 15 or under as ofMay 1. 14U Grade Division: Players must be at least 12 years old and 14 or under as of May 1. 12U Grade Division: Players must be at least 10 years old and 12 or under as of May 1. 10U Grade Division: Players must be at least 8 years old and 10 or under as of May 1. 8U Grade Division: Players must be at least 7 years old and 8 or under as of May 1.
  • Appendix: Connecticut Superiors 7v7 Trench Wars
    Uniforms: All teams are required to wear the designated tournament uniform if provided. Players are permitted to wear standard football cleats with plastic or rubber spikes, and soft shell helmets and mouthpieces are required. Qualifying/Advancing: Roster Changes: Each qualifying team
  • Scoring
    Every rep is scored for the winning participant. Points are based on how quickly the defensive linemen get to the quarterback or how long the offensive linemen can protect the quarterback. Defense Score/Per Second: DOMINATE THE REP equals 2 points win (LESS THAN 2 SECONDS), touch the ref before the 4-second count concludes. Offense Score/Per Second: DOMINATE THE REP (Pancake or defender doesn’t pass the line of scrimmage) equals 2 points, hold the defender off for 4 seconds. Official scores will be kept by field referees and sideline scorekeepers.
  • Tiebreakers
    If two teams are tied at the end of pool play, the tiebreaker is head-to-head records. If three or more teams are tied at the end of pool play, the following criteria will be used to determine winners: Head-to-head records Defensive Point Total Offensive Point Total Coin flip
  • I play other sports, can I participate?
    Yes. We encourage players to cross train and play multiple sports, especially during the early years of your athletic career. We ask parents to properly manage your schedule. Each spot on the roster is needed during tournaments. Practice is crucial to performance. also, remember you are investing significant financial resources, ultimately signing up to become a better football player.
  • What is included in the Uniform
    Each player will receive a tournament uniform with compression shorts and compression shirts, and soft shell helmet. team bag, hoodie, and sweat pants and other branded apparel can be purchased separately at the shops tab.
  • What is the difference between Regional and National teams
    Connecticut Superiors Regional teams compete in regional tournaments and focus on player development, while the National teams travel across the country, playing in premier national events and offering a higher level of competition and exposure.
  • What is the schedule for the superiors 7v7
    There will be 2 Combine / Evaluations at the end of November and the beginning of December. These sessions will be open practices before the official season begins giving kids and parents opportunities to meet coaches and confirm our program is right for you. During the month of December, there will be several Zoom calls/meetings to prepare for the upcoming season, as well as fundraisers to help offset travel cost for everyone. The 1st on-field official practice will take place in January 2025. The official date and time will be posted. The tournament schedule will vary depending on which Circuit you are participating in (regional or national). The exact practice and tournament schedule will be on the website under Schedules tab.
  • What will get me recruited by colleges?
    Highest GPA possible, have great film at your high school, be a great teammate, be a great leader, and do the right thing on and off the field.
  • How many teams / players will Superiors have?
    Superiors will field up too: 1 - 10u Team 2 - 12u Teams 2 – 14u Teams 2 – 15u Teams 2 – 18u Teams
  • Will playing 7v7 get me recruited?
    NO! 7v7 alone is not enough for you to get recruited. 7v7 should be used as a tool to get reps and get better at your craft. Using the technique and improved skill at college camps and during your upcoming season, hopefully you perform well enough to get noticed and ultimately recruited.
  • Should My Child Play Travel 7v7 Football
    Yes, The Superiors is an offseason development program. We accept whoever wants to be great, and we try to instill the mental and physical tools that will steer them on the path to becoming great. Travel 7v7 football can be an enriching experience for your child. It offers a unique opportunity for skill development, fosters teamwork, and introduces them to higher competition levels. With quality coaching and a supportive organization, it's a chance for them to grow, excel, and make lasting memories in the world of sports.
  • How is Playtime determined
    We uphold Equal Play Rules. Everyone will participate as close to equal time as possible during pool play. However, playing time is not guaranteed during elimination play. Coaches will compete to win during bracket play.
  • What are the cost?
    The 2025 Season To help families offset this expense, we offer fundraisers, as well as loyalty and referral programs. (14u-18u) Season Fee varies depending sign up date $995 - $299 +($150 - $60 ) Per Tournament - Financial aid and Scholarships available (10u - 12U) Season Fee is $600 - $299 +($50-$75) Per Tournament - Financial aid and Scholarships available The season fee covers - Uniform, Professional Coaching, Athletic Trainers, Field Rental Fees, Administration cost (all software, insurance, license, legal) The tournament fee - varies base on each tournament venues expense and the cost for coaches to attend. we made this change to ensue parents are only paying for tournaments they can attend. Transportation and lodging costs are NOT INCLUDED in the season fee!! Transportation & Lodging will be the financial responsibility of the parent / family of the players. Each player/parent/family is free to travel using the mode that is best for them. For players traveling without an adult or for adults / parents that wish to travel with the team, there will be transportation & lodging options available at an additional cost. Average cost per weekend (flight, Lodging, food) $500-800 depending on destination. We use a sports team travel agency to book flights and hotel at group rate discounts. Parent only need to select the events of choice, fill out the information. The travel agency will take care of the rest.

    It’s a high-energy, competitive summer football league built for real development and elite reps. With weekly games, this league is your off-season opportunity to level up.

    We’ll place you on a roster that matches your age and skill level so you can compete and get game experience. Friends and groups of friends can request to be on the same team. This will be limited by age, number of teams, and total players.

  • When does the league start and how long does it run?

    All Alpha athletes receive custom uniforms, 7v7 gear, soft shell helmets, bags, and travel apparel.
  • Is Alpha just for the season?
    Alpha is active from January through June. Athletes will compete in national events January - April and D1 college tours June 1 - June 9
  • What positions are being recruited?
    All skill positions and key specialists are considered: QB, WR, DB, RB, LB, and utility athletes.
  • What does “fully funded” mean?
    Your athlete’s registration, uniforms, travel, and tournament entry are 100% covered by sponsors and partners. You pay nothing to participate if selected.
  • What is Superiors Alpha?
    Superiors Alpha is the elite, fully-funded national 7v7 team under the Connecticut Superiors organization. It is built for ranked and high-performing athletes to compete in national tournaments like OT7, Battle, Pylon, and college showcases.
  • How do I get on the team?
    You can earn a roster spot in one of two ways: By Special Invitation (based on film, rankings, or coach referral) Walk-On Tryouts through Operation: Alpha Five (only 5 spots open) Must still complete application before tryout.
  • Will playing for Alpha get me recruited to college?
    Superiors Alpha provides direct national exposure, D1 camp access, and guidance — but your performance and preparation will determine your outcome. We equip you with the best shot to succeed.
  • What if my child doesn’t get selected for Superiors Alpha?
    Not all athletes make the Alpha roster — and that’s okay. Every applicant will receive feedback, development goals, and a pathway to improve.     Yes. We honor your current team as your Development Battalion. Alpha is an elite ops unit — built to complement, not replace.
  • How is travel handled?
    Alpha athletes will travel with coaches and staff under pre-approved transportation and hotel plans. Parents will receive full schedules, chaperone details, and contact protocols.
  • How are athletes selected?
    Selections are made through: Film + ranking review (stars) High-level coach recommendations Walk-on tryout performance evaluations Academic and character screening (minimum 2.6 Core GPA)
